Starting to explain to jury about the Three stages of of uh heat exhaustion in A dog if you will stage one panting we Already know this of course dog’s pant That’s totally normal stage two is what We call shovel tongue if i can show you She’s got a little bit of shovel tongue Right shovel tongue is when the tip of The tongue starts to shovel out or look More of like a heart-shaped so let’s Check out rocky here rocky what’s up Bubba So rocky’s definitely got big time Shovel tongue And that’s stage two stage two is Totally fine it’s stage three that we’re Worried about stage three is when the Shovel tongue gets so big so much blood Is in their tongue that their tongue Engorges that it’s so heavy that it Kicks to the side left or right and they Can no longer keep it straight see how Those are straight if they kick to the Side we’re in stage three you’ve got to Put that dog up you’ve got to get them Hosed down with the water you got to get Them rest because if you don’t stage Four is heat stroke and you don’t want Your dog to have heat stroke they can Easily die you got to take them to the Vet but we got to stop it at stage two Or three so both of these dogs are Totally in the clear but when you start To see that tongue kick out to the left
