We are in beautiful Fort Lauderdale to Get Little Miss Luna here the amazing Australian Cattle Dog to teach her how To behave on the boat because this young Lady has horrible boating manners [Music] Folks welcome back to another exciting Episode of Adventures in dog training With American Standard dog training and DIY k9.com I am your host for today’s Adventures on the water Garrett Wing I Am the owner and founder of both Businesses and check it out baby we are In beautiful Fort Lauderdale actually We’re a little bit north of Fort Lauderdale we are in the Delray Beach Area and we got Colorado coal here our Amazing Dr Cole but hey the reason we’re Out here is not just to have a good time We’re actually getting paid to do what We’re doing and that is to get Little Miss Luna here the amazing Australian Cattle dog was about a year and a half Old to teach her how to behave on the Boat because this young lady has Horrible boating manners okay uh what We’re talking about is she loves to try To jump off the boat when she’s not Supposed to she thinks it’s cool to jump From the left and right and try to bite The spray of the water that’s coming up And her owners live down in the keys and They try to vote all day every day and It has become to the point that they
Cannot take her on the boat anymore Because she’s a liability So today we’re Going to be using e-collar technology is Micro educator because she’s a sensitive Little creature this one and we’re going To teach her her manners on how to Behave on the boat if she does a good Job she gets paid if she’s she does a Bad job she gets pressured and the Secret sauce to getting her to not try To jump off the boat or try to get to The edge and attack the water spray and Bark at other people going by is to give Her a new job to do because she’s really Good at that job but it’s a job now She’s gonna have a new job and it’s Called stay on your place board and be Your best behaved self and if you do That amazing things happen she’s got the The Sweet Spot right out front she can Enjoy herself she can have a great time Out here on the water but we are not Diving overboard hey guys safe boating Is no accident that’s a coal line right There hey one of the reasons we love E-collar Technologies e-collars is the Fact that they’re waterproof so whether You’re going to go on a boat with your Dog go to the beach or be by the pool You can get them wet and in this case Just a really hot day out so before we Even get underway I’m just going to get Her soaked down with the water and I Have no concerns about the product
Getting wet because it’s designed to do That so when it comes to getting on and Off the a boat that’s one of those Precarious times of the dog because she Loves going boating so just the side of The boat she thinks she’s going to jump On and jump off at her Leisure well That’s not the case so the safest way to Do this is have some sense of obedience This is a true application of a downstay So I’m gonna have her down stay I’m Gonna get on when I’m ready for her then She can come on Luna down Good enough for me Captain permission to Board permission granted unicorn you Better believe it all right we’re on I Told you I got no balance but hey girl We’re ready for you okay Gotta make sure you put that sunscreen On you know especially on your face So this restaurant over here used to be Called Che years ago they discovered That um the mafia was basically Laundering money for it so it got bought Out by this place miso or something I’ve Never been but You can go dock your boat up there and Go eat lunch hey if you all are Interested in taking a tour of the Fort Lauderdale Intracoastal and find out More about the mafia and who owns what Make sure you get on Dr Cole’s uh Yachting Adventures Deck 84. this has been here for years
Actually um your wife actually used to Work here and did the accounting for This restaurant you know what’s Wild is That Cole knew that and I didn’t even Know that honey I love you actually the Reason I know all of this is because I Went on a tour on this boat right up Here called The Lady Atlantic if you Went on their tour took all their Information and now regurgitated on Captain Cole’s BS Charters yes a common Theme of mine is I like to steal Information from other people it reminds Me a lot of some dog trainers I know up On the interwebs that I don’t know where They get their information from and then Repurpose it as their own I’ve seen a Lot of people actually go to tie down Their dog to one of these cleats over Here they can’t jump out of the boat Your dog jumps out it’s gonna go on a Roller coaster of a ride getting dragged By your boat not to mention you have a Propeller spinning in the back so I Never recommend anyone to tie down your Dog on a boat it’s always okay to have a Leash handy or a pull tab or something But I I’d highly recommend that you Never tie your dog down Foreign We’re out here in the Atlantic Ocean uh Happens to be a relatively calm day Pretty close to the beach here it’s Absolutely beautiful out and Luna
Crushed it on our way out here we went Through a pretty uh hairy Inlet there With some little bit of activity a lot Of splashing and she thought about one Time let me do what I used to do which Is attack the water spray and she didn’t Do it she was able to maintain her Position on the place board she does a Good job when she does a good job she Gets paid for being a winner And we were paying her the whole time Out and she’s just absolutely crushed it I know her owners are going to be Ecstatic that we were able to overcome That big hurdle for her and get her to Now finally enjoy being out uh on the Boat on beautiful days like this so we Got a lot more to go and uh I think We’re gonna jump in the water now [Music] Let’s make it happen Let’s Go Mama Foreign All right folks this is why we uh teach Dogs how to swim so they don’t claw your Back to death so we spent a little extra Time in the water teaching her how to Swim and that was after we realized what A horrible swimmer she is so unconfident Swimmer we don’t want dogs to think that It’s okay to uh claw you to death to try To jump on you like you’re some kind of Uh island in the middle of the water It’s unhealthy so she needs a lot of
Work come to find out in the water we’re Going to get her to become a much better Swimmer so she doesn’t panic swim which Is it’s a quick way for your dog to Drown right so dogs can swim pretty good But if they Panic swim because they Don’t know how to swim they’re going to Exhaust themselves and panic and not Only hurt yourself hurt your kids but They can drown from exerting themselves So much so not good so we’re gonna have To work on her swimming but all in all It was still a pretty good Adventure Notice uh who’s not clawed up Because that’s because I know how to use A leash You know dog training isn’t always easy Uh You gotta Gotta put in the work someday some days Are easier than others and sometimes you Get beat up and today I got beat up what Are you gonna tell your girlfriend she Needs to be a quiet sleeper all right Folks one of the beautiful things about The equipment that we use and we test For instance this amazing bile Thane Leash made by Jim Hodges it’s a six foot By 5 8 inch thick you can put it right Into the water biothane brass it’s not Going to rust on you right into the salt Water right onto the dog now the other Tool that we recommend is a mighty Paul Uh Martingale leather leash we’re not

In the courses Foreign [Music] What the hell are you doing so if you Ever get water near here you can either Try to shake it out or what’s more Recommended is you use rubbing alcohol Hey same for the dogs but I’m telling You right now my girl was in the water When we get home first thing I’m gonna Do is take a fat capful or a chew of Rubbing alcohol and dump it right in Both of her ears to help get some of That moisture out of there clean it up So we don’t have any ear infections from That uh salt water but having said that I’m gonna make sure that Cole gets his Uh damn seizure medicine before we come Sit down over here very friendly uh so She said she’s going swimming today oh We went when we were at the beach we Swam all the way to the shore with her Not so good look what his girlfriend did To him Luna she panicked in the water and uh But we’ve been trying to hold her up and She’s still like calling you and not Pleasant but she’ll figure it out How do you get on a boat with uh Two rum and cokes and one Australian Cattle Dog like this baby like this Come on sweet thing good girl Mama good Girl all right now get yourselves ready Because we got the uh
