Hey buddy Hey buddy hey man my name is taijan i’m A professional dog trainer from atlanta And i go around helping people giving Out free dog training there was one Thing that you could change about your Dog what would it be this reactivity man Like every time we go out he sees Another dog his issues like he’s good Lunging barking i feel like he’s going To hurt himself now what i’m going to do To him is i’m going to teach him a Verbal marker and i want to use that to Interrupt reactivity is a cycle i like To think of it as a cycle like the water Cycle the first thing that happens to a Dog is that they’re gonna see the Trigger this is the point where your dog Looks and becomes fixated on the object Or the other person or another dog then What happens is an emotional response Barking lunging pulling Yes and i have something that he wants And that obviously helps me to stop him From getting beyond his trigger or his Reactive point so you can see here that He’s focusing on those dogs Rocky yes So i go the opposite way i capture his Attention as soon as i see him getting Fixated i snap and interrupt him there Rocky Yes I lost him to the grass so he started
Sniffing the grass so therefore i had Decided to turn and move instead Interrupting with the food captures his Attention Just the faster you move the better Because The longer we sit there and let it Linger the more it just soaks in for him And he just you know starts salivating Over the trigger so right here is the Odors of other dogs we got dogs coming In and out the park the only good thing That comes out of the dog park is being Able to work in front of it Yes Let’s see you do it so lead with that Left leg That’s much better and when you turn and He follows and moves his butt in your Direction he does the action first you Follow up with a yes and rewards yes Keep going keep going don’t let him get Caught up in that so you can see that Your dog is under stress here but your Dog is not over threshold over threshold He wouldn’t be taking food he also Will be lunge and barking i think he’s On the verge there i honestly think he’s On the verge because you hear him crying So i like to do is start walking and try To create a little bit more distance Sit down get a seat there Right there Right so getting a little bit further
Helped him out big time but i think You’ve done a lot of great work with him And it’s like a night and day difference Appreciate you thank you for trusting me Say thank you buddy
