So what we’re working on with my dog Gage Is um he’s going a little bit sleep side Of the barking which can be a common Problem for igp dogs where they start Kind of barking here and then they bark Bark bark over there so i’m gonna be Using a chair My electric and the stick To fix this issue and really start kind Of trying to make it clear for him where I would prefer him to be versus sleep Side versus Stick side okay And also Sometimes in the barking with me Specifically not so much with the helper He wants to bark a little bit towards my Shoulder and not in my face so you guys Are going to kind of be seeing me work a Little bit on that as well so With that being said i’m going to give Him a clear choice Right on where he comes and i want to See what decision he makes this is our Second session working since his trial So we’ll kind of see what happens here What We’re also going to transition to Working A little bit because he’s a brashy dog And before you ask how did you do this All right guys if you haven’t done this Before don’t do this with your dog
You’re not going to help the dog just Interesting work for me come here come Here sit good Down So Now we’re going to do the same thing And again This time we’re going to do a transition From the grip To the guard so it’s a little bit Different because he’s going to be Starting on the grip instead of rolling In for the grip All right Good that wasn’t bad Oh you weren’t ready [Applause] There we go So overall pretty good it’s actually Already way better than the last session I wish you guys had seen the last Section because he was far too much more Sleek side So now i’m going to switch it up I’m not going to use this chair i’m Going to use a post now [Music] Sit Sit So one thing with gage is he’s a bit Hectic on the grip It’s a genetic thing a little bit with Him so we’ve worked really hard on Calming the grip and teaching him the
Thrashing and punching isn’t what he Needs to do what he actually needs to do Get full get calm Settle in and pull but it’s something That requires work and maintenance That’s it So we’re using the e i’ve used the e a Lot for this Lots Sit Good All right So We’re gonna do A grip I’m going to drive to that post so you Might want to just kind of stay right Next to the bike table there I’m going to drive to that pulse And then i’m going to Make an out there Then we’ll see where we’re at here I lost my e-collar there so it wasn’t as Good as it could have been Sit We’re gonna do that again i’ll just take The grip here Six [Music] He was fighting me so well there I couldn’t I couldn’t Not reward that by giving him the sleep
There Okay Sit Now we want real Active barking okay We want really nice barking here so We’re going to work a little bit on that And then on the transition I want him to go full After the drive He will glance forward to sleep because He is expecting to re-attack but i still Want really strong active marking on the Helper and i don’t want him cheating To the sleeve side so it’s something Will require for sure some work so now What we’re going to do and just so you Guys know like the whole time if he Punches right i’m using that e-collar to Make the pulling to make the grip the E-collar has been used a lot maybe you Guys are seeing the red button maybe You’re ready when you see the red lights On his um On his collar it means i’m motivating Him with the e-collar Now he’s tired Now he’s going to make expected lock up Here Very good Good fighting on the sleeve you can see The grip sometimes slips to three Quarters Of course he’s tired now
The guard there was the least i think The less The the not so good guarding because He’s getting a bit tired plots Good boy done So The garden there was i think in my Opinion the least Um good garden that he stunned But Overall I like to do work like this with the dog Because i think it really prepares him When he sees a helper And then the helper doesn’t have to put As much pressure on him again guys Don’t do this if you’ve never done it Before you’ll mess your dog up um and Again this isn’t like Personal protection training i’m doing With him i’m doing some igp training but Even in igp we want We don’t want the dog like just barking Like he’s barking for his ball or Barking like he’s barking for food like We want active barking so sometimes you See when when i make some pressure on Him the teeth come a bit of course i’m His daddy so it’s not going to be as Much but i’m putting the tools there so That When the helpers Like kelly and stuff that we work on When they do it with him
Now the tools already there he knows What it what to do and there’s less Conflict there’s less pressure for him He’s very aware so Um Yeah i mean he’s he’s cleaner now and i Really do like on the we’re going to put The barking in the blind soon because The way he’s coming in now i like that He’s making the decision not to come to The sleeve side but to come to the stick Side that’s kind of what i really want Him to learn and soon we’ll do it with With a pose then a stake so on and so Forth that’s just what i’m doing with Gage now guys just so you know Like Comment below tell me what you think we Do have a full online course on how to Protection train your dog and that’s not For just sport we have for personal Protection training as well suit work Competition work so on and so forth we Have a complete protection foundations Course it’ll tell you how to develop a Young dog as a decoy what you need to be Working on so on and so forth so give us A check on that shield k9.ca and thank You for watching
