All right folks check it out behind us Are two three and a half month old Malinois puppies they are litter mates We are going to be starting training With the first one he’s the biggest of The bunch he’s either the alpha or beta Male out of the group uh and they call Him big boy you’re going to be seeing Him in just a moment and this is just a Cool video to show you a little behind The scenes of how we take dogs into our Uh off leash puppy and doggy board train Programs and uh you’ll just see how it’s Done enough yapping from me we’ll be Checking these dogs out so come on over What the chocolate Yeah So let’s check out one at a time So how old is he his color he is 14 Weeks we swap out all equipment because Um We have the best you know you know we’re Trying to have like professional grade Stuff okay and um like I I really hate Those collars from the pet store oh I Know this is looking oh definitely yeah Yeah so quick plug for the folks at Mighty paw we actually love their Product let me see the uh the thing here They didn’t ask us to do this we’re not Sponsored by them we should be we put This on every one of our dogs really Beautiful leather material and it’s a Martingale style and you’ll see why
That’s important so when we put this on If you were to freak out or try to back Out of the collar it will cinch tight on Him and we don’t have that runaway dog Pole so this is a size uh small I Shouldn’t even promote this because They’re always out of stock and when you Guys start buying them they’re going to Always be out of stock I’ll never be Able to get my own stuff tell us about Mr Big Boy he was the first one born He weighed about a pound first one to Come out first one to come out and Biggest buy a lot like three ounces and He’s grown at the fastest rate yeah and Actually we were gonna have a male but He is the sweetest dog and tell us about The parents uh his dad is Um a Belgian Malinois black he’s about 80 pounds and he’s three and a half Almost four years old his mother is from Germany and she’s a mixed Belgian Malinois so Dad Malinois Malinois same Thing about almost four she’s four Because he’s a little stressed Um could be in a puppy fear stage I mean This is what you get at the pet store I Just I’m not a fan of them plastic Buckles if I pull hard enough I could Break it Kelly do you recommend malinwas For the folks at home Yeah The country understand the breed not Generally make sure you say nice and
Loud generally they have you have to Know the breed if they don’t need the Know the breed if they’re not willing to Train them do not get them Helen Actually that’s how my brother found you I would he was researching it and he Said don’t get a Malinois at all and Then next we have she will be part of Our program and about four or five weeks Whenever he’s we’re swapping them and About whenever he’s done we’re swapping Them then you get both of them he’s the Gentle giant he was the first to come Out of the litter the female over there Was the last to come out to be born and He they believe uh she’s the alpha of The litter she’s hardcore everybody has To come tomorrow what’s that that’s good Stuff Boy see a little more confidence in her Yeah So I’m just playing with him a little Bit so not great at taking food from the Hand that’s fine we’re gonna work on That but watch what happens when I pop Open my tree pouch like an animal look At that like an animal great food drive We’re not mad at him for that we like That But he needs to know that my hand my Hand is just as good Feed your puppies out of your hands From day one so with these at minimum Hold the bowl
And see we’ve got to work on food line So if I can Channel his his drive to Stick his head in this pouch and destroy And in my hand and we’ll be rocking and Rolling watch the difference here He’s learning huh Watch what happens when I take this off Like a monster Thank you So aggressive even though they’re litter Mates you know the reason we’re training Them separately you may ask is because We got to separate them from their Litter otherwise you can develop Litter Mate syndrome which in a nutshell we Call it Charlie Brown syndrome also but The dogs will become very very dependent Upon each other and basically Like siamese twins like you can’t Separate them and when when they get Alone they will be freaking out that They have been removed from their pack So instead what we’re going to do is let Them know that your pack isn’t your Litter Mate your pack is your family you Know of humans there might be other dogs As part of that pack but they form a Very close Bond basically if puppies Grow up with each other they almost Revert back to being a little feral a Little wild and their connection with Humans is not quite as strong if if They’re not separated about eight nine Ten weeks old Litter Mate syndrome can
Happen even with two young puppies that You get from the store that aren’t from The same litter you get from you get one Rottweiler puppy from this breeder you Get one German Shepherd puppy from that Breeder and they’re both eight nine ten Weeks old and they grow up together they Can still develop a littermate syndrome Meaning they’re just going to be Form a bond with other dogs and look at Humans as more of like like a zookeeper Like thanks for bringing the food but I Don’t have a real relationship with you You’re just the the person that comes Over and brings food and we don’t want That we need them to know that humans Are part of their pack always a cool Test too to see where our dogs Confidences Trust Dominance it’s all rolled into one check This out we’ll see I expect him not to Like this in the slightest See Really needs to be worked on your Three-month-old puppy Three-year-old dog Etc etc needs to be very comfortable and Confident with being put in a submissive Position imagine we take him to the vet Right now and he needs to get a shot or He maybe has something in his paw can You imagine trying to deal with a little Three and a half month old terrorist
Now let’s see how she does with it we’re Going to fix all that also he doesn’t Know me we don’t have that relationship She’s more confident so we’ll see how She does with it I expect her to do much Better It’s a confidence thing Is she not she not loving it She’s like you don’t know me like that But she’s got the confidence that She’s not afraid of me he’s a little More timid Um so we need to build up this Confidence Uh you’ll say oh I heard him I literally Did what I just did to her didn’t hurt Her He was scared and so he went to now he’s Quick to turn off you saw how quick he Is to put his mouth on me and such so we Need to work on his confidence and make Him very comfortable in this position Like she is right because she’s a Tougher dog look at that I can manhandle Her I can put her in a like we would Call this like a side submissive type State you can establish dominance doing This that’s not really what I’m trying To do here I’m trying to actually see Her confidence in the position look at Her happy as can be we do that with him He thought we were getting ready to Murder Um no good no good you need to practice
This with your puppies at a very young Age imagine if he didn’t come to us and We don’t get that fixed And I know he might say oh he doesn’t Know you Right he’s also not going to know the Vet tech that does this a month from now A year from now four years from now if You don’t get these little issues ironed Out as young puppies That dog at two years old when they take Him to the vet And we don’t get that fixed that’s a That’s a fight that’s a dog bite that’s A out of control dog that you will not Be able to take to the vet without Putting a muzzle on because you Literally can’t get it to lay down or or Be on its side comfortably very Important to work on these things and We’ll be working on that with him in Fact every dog that comes to our program Nobody asks about that they ask oh you Get my dog to heal and walk on a leash Yes of course we’re gonna get all that Obedience but it’s the behind the scenes Can you wash your dog without a fight Can you get him in out of the crate Without a fight can you put them in a Side submission without a fight can you Touch them anywhere and everywhere make Sure to check out the link in the Description send you over to our DIY Canine.com online dog training courses
