When I first started my business, I was talking to another entrepreneur and I told him that I want my business to be how to coach clients through how to enhance and enrich their dogs mental health.
I want people to learn how to make their dogs lives more enriched and fulfilled so that they can be happier and confident and secure.
When I said that, his response was, “Oh, it sounds like you’re selling too hard. It sounds like you are selling propaganda. And it just sounds really sleazy.”
He meant it as constructive criticism. He didn’t mean to be a jerk, but I was like taken aback.
I was like, “Oh, okay.”
As I’ve worked through my business, I’ve had many clients tell me it’s really fascinating that I have an entire business that is only off dogs that have anxiety because they just wouldn’t imagine that there would be enough dogs for that.
I’m like, “What do you mean? We’re very busy and we have a waitlist and we multiple coaches. We got way too many dogs. THAT’S the problem.”
I think this really is a reflection of how people view canine mental health on the whole.
