Hello guys welcome back to my channel It’s the dog daddy today i’m here at Rocking rescue in woodland hills in California it’s one of the Non-kill shelters that i volunteer Helping With training for the dogs as well as Networking the dogs to help find homes For them and that’s the purpose of this Video so i’m going to be showing you Guys some of the new dogs that they have Now and i also do some assessments to Help identify if there’s any concerns With the dog’s behavior concerns so when People go to adopt them it makes it a Lot easier for them to know exactly what They’re getting into um i did some Training with a new husky today as you Guys are going to see throughout this Video and i basically show you the dogs That are available these dogs are Available for adoption And i’m going to have the Link to the website for the rescue so You guys can contact them directly if You’re interested in adopting one of the Dogs you must be in the la area to adopt Keep that in mind but it can also help By Following them Send donations and make sure that you Follow and subscribe to this channel so You can help more dogs as i continue to Post them here on this channel dogs are
Not the only animals here there’s also a Lot of cats how many cats are here we Have over 100 cats here at the rescue [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] Blue [Music] [Applause] [Music] Okay We’re going to switch right to the prone Call it’s going to go slowly with him All right so now he has his we got the Prone call on him it’s something Completely new some dogs they’re so used To getting away with things they can get Really frustrated when they put a collar On them That really really gets their attention So i’m gonna go slowly so that he can Get a chance to Get used to the collar But at the same time he’s going to also Have to get used to the fact that he Can’t be pulling the way that he was Before come So baby steps but he’s got to slow down Good boy Is responding pretty good so far Let’s turn this way Good you
Good boy he’s like he’s uh acknowledging The caller and responding pretty good All right let’s go So i’ll teach him to not be sniffing Everything because this will just teach Him self-control like right now he just Wants to be on the run all the time We gotta teach him to watch his steps a Little bit and slow down So we’re going to be using this little Pressure here to redirect him every time He’s thinking about going too fast Or just going to everything that he sees The first time is always the hardest Time to To work with him because we’re breaking A habit that he already has To just be able to always pull and and Get to everything that he wants now he’s Got to think about it and he can’t just Reach everything that he sees You gotta have a little more Self-control And then this will teach him to relax And not be so concerned about everything And then it becomes easier for human for Us I have the first saver that i’m using Here as a backup Just because sometimes the phone colors Can come apart And we don’t want especially a husky to Be on the On the loose
It’s the right size you just see Sometimes it’s the right size but it’s Just light down on the dog’s neck it’s Gonna once in a while Stop and adjust it by pulling it up Close to the ears Trying to establish this loose leash So every time he’s not giving me the Loose leash i gotta stop pull back Make him turn around anything that gets Him to slow down and pay attention to me Instead of what’s ahead of us Let’s go back this way He’s starting to pay attention to his Steps already so that’s really good i Like to indicate to the dog when i’m Going to stop so personally i use this Sound And i apply a little bit of pressure so After a few repetitions of this i’ll be Able to just use the sound for them to Know i’m going to stop So it makes it really easy for me to Communicate with them and then of course When i’m going to walk again heal And then invite him with a little bit of Pressure Good boy another thing that i’m doing is Any of the dogs that get adopted from The rescue will receive free training With me so whenever i have my group Trainings scheduled in la if you adopted A dog from here you guys can just Message me to
Sign up for free to come to get the help Like i said i Try to make sure that the dogs are going Into the perfect home because that’s the Goal with the rescue themselves they Don’t want the dogs to be going back and Forth and getting you know being bounced Around so the the purpose of me Doing the assessment doing some training And then offer offering the free Training after they already go home is Just to make sure to make sure that we Can help the dogs stay in the homes After they get adopted out So if you’re interested again in any of These dogs i’m going to have the website And the Instagram where you guys can go and Check out all the available dogs and Cats from the rescue and make sure that You message them directly don’t message Me about the rescue dogs Message the the rescue themselves and They will be able to go for guide you From there on on the steps to maybe Adopt one of the dogs
