Is your dog afraid of
loud noises and fireworks? Some dogs respond really well
to something called swaddling. You can actually put a tight t-shirt on
your dog or get a product like a thunder Shirt. This gentle pressure has a therapeutic
effect on dogs who are really sensitive To environmental noises, but
be aware if you’re using this, You shouldn’t only put the shirt on when
the fireworks start or when there’s a Thunderstorm happening. You don’t wanna accidentally create
an anxiety trigger for your dog by Connecting the shirt
with those scary sounds. So make sure you have your dog wear it
during times when they’re totally relaxed As well. Using a crate is a great way to give your
dog a safe place to go in the event of Fireworks or thunderstorms. You can even put a blanket over top of
the crate to shelter them from some of The flashing lights and loud sounds, Have your dog go into their crate
with their favorite chew toy, Or it can even take a Kong and stuff some
food in there to give them a bit of a Distraction. Once they’re in another common tactic
is to create some ambient noise. Put on your favorite
playlist at a low volume. That way the fireworks outside
seem a little less startling. So I hope this makes the upcoming holiday
a little bit more enjoyable for the Both of you.
